Redemption rules define what customers receive for their points. You can keep several rewards active at the same time, including more than one Store Credit reward.
Choose a reward type
- Store Credit Let customers choose how many complete conversion units to redeem.
- Amount off products Give an amount or percentage off selected products or collections.
- Amount off order Give an amount or percentage off the customer's order.
- Buy X get Y Reward a qualifying purchase with discounted or free items.
- Free shipping Cover eligible shipping rates for the destinations you choose.
Create a rule
- In NASP Rewards, open Redemption rules.
- Choose Create redemption rule.
- Choose the reward type.
- Give the reward a clear, customer-facing title in your store’s default language. The editor and preview show which language Shopify treats as the store default.
- Complete the value and eligibility settings described in the guide for that reward type.
- Review the preview, then save.
New rules are active as soon as you save them. Customers who have enough points can then find the reward under Ways to redeem in customer accounts and from the Redeem action in Shopify POS.
For stores with more than one language, keep the source title in NASP Rewards and add alternate versions through Shopify Translate & Adapt. Follow Translate Customer rewards.
Built on Shopify discounts
These four rewards use Shopify’s own code discount types—not a separate coupon system. NASP Rewards connects them to loyalty points: when a customer redeems, we deduct their points, create a customer-restricted Shopify discount from the saved rule, and give them its unique code.
| NASP Rewards rule | Shopify discount created |
|---|---|
| Amount off products | Amount off products code discount |
| Amount off order | Amount off order code discount |
| Buy X get Y | Buy X get Y code discount |
| Free shipping | Free shipping code discount |
Each discount:
- belongs to the customer who redeemed it;
- can be used once at checkout;
- starts immediately;
- applies to one-time purchases; and
- follows the value, eligibility, minimum purchase, combination, and validity settings saved on the rule.
Every issued discount appears under Shopify Admin → Discounts, alongside your other discounts. Your team can open it there to review its code and settings using the Shopify screens they already know.
Configure future rewards in NASP Rewards. Avoid editing an issued discount directly in Shopify unless you intentionally want to change that customer’s reward. Changes made in Shopify do not update the historical redemption in NASP Rewards.
Customers see the code after the reward is ready and can copy it again from Your rewards. In Shopify POS, staff apply the displayed code at checkout.
Edit, deactivate, or delete a rule
Open a rule to change its settings. If you change its source title, review its alternate-language versions in Translate & Adapt. Use More actions to deactivate, activate, or delete it.
- Deactivate hides the reward without deleting its setup.
- Activate makes it available again.
- Delete permanently removes the rule from future redemption.
Changes affect future redemptions only. Every completed redemption keeps the title, point cost, value, eligibility, and validity that applied when the customer confirmed it. Deactivating or deleting a rule does not cancel store credit or discount codes already issued.
After a reward is issued
A successful redemption is final. NASP Rewards does not automatically return points when an unused reward expires, an order is cancelled, or an order is fully or partly refunded. Use a manual points adjustment when you decide to make an exception for a customer.
Stores with older merchant-fulfilled claims can also review the historical Custom Reward workflow.
